Applications
In PVC plastisols DIDP is superior to Dop, DIOP in its slower viscosity build-up in the longer storage life of the finished formulations. A comparison between DOP, DIOP is given at the back of this leaflet. DIOP used in insulation has a high degree of permanence, retains good elongation under heat aging, and in 80°C and 90°C insulating compounds, saves on formulation cost and imparts much better electrical properties than other plasticizers. DIDP is used as a plasticizer for polyurethane foam to improve resilience. Normally 10 parts per hundred of foam are used. Wire and cables, automotive interiors and construction films.
Advantages
1. Good heat aging characteristics.
2. Excellent soapy water resistance.
3. Very low voatility.
4. Has a high and light stability.
5. Excellent dimensional stability, tensile strength and elongation percentage.
6. Good low temperature flexibility.
7. Superior viscosity stability in plastisols.
8. Longer storage life of the finished product.
9. Excellent dielectric properties and better volume resistivity.
